Join us for an evening of sculpting and painting your very own face mug. In this four-hour workshop, you’ll be guided step by step to bring your ideas to life in clay.
First half (2 hours): You’ll begin with a pre-thrown and trimmed base mug, handmade on the wheel by your instructor, Alicia (@meilinceramics). Using clay, you’ll sculpt facial features and attach a handle to make the mug uniquely yours.
Second half (2 hours): Once your form is complete, you’ll bring it to life with color. Explore painting techniques using underglazes to decorate your mug.
After the workshop, your mug will be slowly dried, bisque fired, then individually clear-glazed and then fired one las time in the kiln by your instructor. Your mugs will be ready for pickup within 3-4 weeks.
No prior clay experience is needed; just bring your imagination and we’ll provide the rest.
